Calling compliance in Lyre
The compliance controls built into Lyre: AI and recording disclosure on every call, organisation-wide calling hours for outbound calls, and the do-not-contact list.
Calling people with an AI agent comes with obligations. Lyre has a few controls that help you meet them. You're still responsible for how you use it, including the Do Not Call Register, consent to record, and privacy law. This page describes what Lyre does for you. For the wider picture, read Lyre's Australian compliance notes.
AI disclosure on every call
- Open the agent and go to the Compliance tab.
- Turn on AI disclosure to play the disclosure at the start of every call.
- Edit the Disclosure text so it says, in your words, that the caller is speaking with an AI and the call may be recorded.
- Select Save changes.
For regular callers who have already given consent, you can mark a contact with Recording consent confirmed and Skip disclosure by default; see Phone numbers. The agent's Quality tab reports a Disclosure rate so you can check it's happening.
Calling hours
Every outbound call, whether one-off or part of a campaign, is checked against your organisation's calling window. By default, Lyre only calls on Monday to Friday between 09:00 and 20:00, and on Saturday between 09:00 and 17:00, Sydney time. It never calls on Sunday.
Campaigns have an Override calling hours option. Use it only for testing, or for contacts who have agreed to be called outside these hours.
Do-not-contact list
Every outbound dial is checked against your organisation's do-not-contact list. If the check can't be completed, the call doesn't go ahead. When someone replies STOP or UNSUBSCRIBE to an SMS, they stop receiving SMS from you. Calls are controlled by the do-not-contact list.
The do-not-contact list doesn't have its own screen in the dashboard yet. It's managed through Lyre's tools for connected AI assistants. Calls that end with the outcome Do not call are flagged in call history so you can act on them.
Recordings
Calls are recorded so you can review them. Recording rules in Australia vary by state, so make sure your disclosure covers recording. The Fulcrum Cortex guide to recording consent for AI calls explains the details.
Configure the controls, then test them
Review the agent’s disclosure, recording configuration, calling hours and do-not-contact handling for the intended workflow. Test with your own approved number. Make sure campaign and retry behaviour respects the configured restrictions; writing a rule in a prompt is not proof that every calling path enforces it.
Handle a request to stop
End the unwanted interaction and use the appropriate do-not-contact process before adding the person to another call list. Check existing campaigns and follow-up tasks as well. The controls described here are product operations; use the applicable official guidance or professional advice for legal requirements.
